Pismo Beach Community Information

Conveniently located in southern San Luis Obispo County, the town has less than 8,000 people who reside here. This town is one of five towns that make up the entire county. It is located on the Rancho Pismo land grant that was given to Jose Ortega back in 1840. In 1846, Ortega ended up selling the land to Isaac Sparks. Sparks ended up selling it to John Price. During 1891, the town of Pismo Beach was officially established. Price Historical Park is now the homestead of Price, with his home being one of the landmarks in town. William Ward built the first pier in 1924. It was designed for the public to make full use of it. During 1985, the pier had to be renovated after extensive storm damage.

Pismo Beach CA Attractions

The Pismo Beach Pier is one of the best spots to visit in town. Make sure to take loads of cracker crumbs and bread to feed all of the pigeons and seagulls that flock to the pier. The view is amazing, so make sure to take plenty of pictures. This is an exceptional place to head out and take a walk along the pier. You will be able to soak up the beauty and unwind all at the same time.

Hearst Castle Historical Monument is one of those places that the entire family will enjoy. Not only is the attraction beautiful, but the price you pay for admission is well worth the view you will get inside of the attraction. Once you take a guided tour, you will understand what it is that draws so many people in to its charms.

For those who want to enjoy some wine tasting, you will be able to head out to wine country and see what all they have to offer you. From coastal beaches to wine tasting and more, you will love everything the town has for you.
